For more than 30 years, Kevin Parkyn has partnered with companies and organizations to coach and train their leaders to achieve lasting results. He is a leader who understands that if the entire team is to be successful, the leader must create an environment that propels them into action. Kevin brings a breadth of knowledge of the leadership issues facing organizations today. In concert with his executive coaching approach, Kevin’s interactive style of using real-life stories and insightful questions keeps even the most seasoned professionals engaged and inspired to learn.
A Coach Who Looks Out for You and Champions Your Growth
Over his career, Kevin has found that most leaders perform their technical skills with excellence. It’s the personal, people side that can be left wanting. He works with those individuals to identify the gaps in their leadership approach and collaboratively develop actionable steps to achieve the needed authentic, people-centered skills.
Kevin is a Certified Master Trainer and Leadership Developer at Development Dimensions International (DDI). He is certified in their learning systems, as well as their flagship selection process, Targeted Selection. He is one of DDI’s Virtual Classroom facilitators to meet business’ changing training needs. Kevin is also certified in the Steinbrecher ROI Executive Coaching Method, as well as Steinbrecher Leadership training.
Kevin was the primary coach to successfully inaugurate and sustain the first small teams approach in a manufacturing plant of an American auto company. While there, he helped customize and train an advanced coaching program—building an accountable and coach-focused environment. Kevin’s model was so successful that other plants in the system asked him to create the same environment. Kevin is very comfortable working with management and union leaders alike. He has trained UAW members and officers. He’s played the role of mediator while being a confidant and advisor to both Plant Managers and UAW Officers and Representatives.
Kevin has been a consistent resource in developing and training new and seasoned employees at a major appliance manufacturer in leadership and coaching skills. With a multi-state transportation company, Kevin is also a leadership safety training expert who focuses on intentional communication skills and their function in safety. Kevin has also worked in the aerospace industry to build communication skills where technical skills were not enough to be successful. He is a consistent resource to an international coatings and adhesive company as a leadership trainer and coach.
Some of the companies he has partnered with include Ford, Chrysler, Whirlpool, Henkel, Pepsi, NASA, Viacom, BNSF Railways, Citco, Caterpillar, Mylan Labs, Thomson Reuters, Waste Management, and Deloitte.
Before becoming a coach and leadership developer, Kevin held leadership and sales positions in the US and internationally. Kevin also served as a consultant to churches on their youth programs and increased community impact through Youth for Christ and Young River Ministries. He served on the board of directors and then assumed the Executive Director position of Mainstream to continue to aid local church programs and to help produce regionwide and national training events.
